Fife coastal location
Tayport Community Trust
A landscape shaped by its purpose.
Larick Campsite sits beside the Larick Centre in Tayport, close to Tentsmuir Forest and the Fife Coastal Path. The campsite and amenity building form the second phase of Tayport Community Trust’s community-led development.
The external works required a robust surface around a 32-pitch campsite and modern amenity building. 700 m² of CORE COMMERCIAL stabilised the gravel areas.
What the project had to achieve.
Provide a practical gravel surface for a community campsite, accommodating regular pedestrian and vehicle movement around the amenity building without losing the informal character of the site.
- 01
Shared access
The surface needed to accommodate people, luggage and campsite vehicles around the facilities.
- 02
Stable gravel
A broad gravel area required cellular restraint to limit rutting, migration and local displacement.
- 03
Natural appearance
The finished surface needed to suit the campsite’s informal coastal setting.
- 04
Free-draining finish
The external area needed to remain permeable around the amenity building.

Selected around the site—not just the surface.
CORE COMMERCIAL was installed across 700 m² of the campsite’s external areas and filled with the selected gravel to create a controlled, permeable surface.
CORE COMMERCIAL grids were laid across 700 m² of the prepared external works around the campsite facilities.
The interconnected cellular surface restrained the selected gravel, creating a more consistent route for pedestrians and vehicles while keeping the aggregate finish visible.
The result combines the appearance of loose gravel with the control required for an operational campsite and its shared amenity spaces.
