The application controls surface infill and erosion; it is not a global slope-stability system.
Slope retention & erosion control
Confine soil or aggregate across slopes and embankments.
CORE’s slope retention system uses anchored CORE GEOCELL to confine selected infill at the face of a slope. Cell depth, infill and the anchorage layout are selected around the geometry, ground, runoff and proposed finish.

Common applications
- Topsoil confinement
- Aggregate confinement
- Surface erosion control
- Revegetation support
The current product grade and depth must be confirmed against the slope, infill, water and intended finish.
Crest, face and toe restraint must be coordinated with the ground, geometry, runoff, access and any liner.
How it works
- 01
Cellular confinement retains selected fill within interconnected cells.
- 02
Anchorage and crest/toe details resist movement at the surface.
- 03
The infill and vegetation strategy respond to the hydraulic and landscape conditions.
Built around the slope in front of you
No two slopes behave in exactly the same way. Ground, gradient, runoff, finish and access all affect the arrangement.
Vegetated slope
Confines selected topsoil while the planting and any erosion-control layer establish across the face.
Vegetation and runoff strategy requiredStone-faced slope
Holds selected aggregate where a planted finish is not required. Cell depth, grading and toe restraint must work together.
Infill selection requiredChannel or concentrated flow
Flow conditions, outlets and the risk of infill loss must be reviewed before a build-up is selected.
Hydraulic review requiredLiner or restricted pinning
Anchors must not puncture a waterproofing or containment liner. The interface and restraint strategy needs project-specific design.

What the system includes
The drawing shows the relationship between the slope, cellular layer, anchorage and finish. It is not a universal specification.
- 01Prepared slope face
A stable, graded face with loose material removed and drainage issues addressed.
- 02Interface layer, where required
A geotextile or erosion-control layer selected for its separation, filtration or soil-retention role.
- 03CORE GEOCELL
The cellular confinement layer, expanded and connected across the prepared face.
- 04Anchorage and restraint
Project-specific crest, face and toe details using the selected anchors, tendons or restraint system.
- 05Selected infill
Topsoil or aggregate placed using an agreed method that does not displace the open cells.
- 06Surface finish
Vegetation or stone completed to suit the landscape, runoff and maintenance strategy.
Illustrative system only. Cell depth, anchorage, interface layers and infill must be selected for the actual slope.
A clear sequence from face to finish
These are planning principles, not a substitute for the agreed project detail or the current product guidance.
- 01
Confirm the slope
Check that the underlying slope is stable and suitable for surface treatment. Resolve any wider earthworks or retaining concerns first.
- 02
Prepare the face
Form the required profile and coordinate crest, toe, drainage, services and access before material is placed.
- 03
Place the interface layer
Install the specified geotextile or erosion-control layer, including laps and edge details, where the design calls for one.
- 04
Expand and connect
Open CORE GEOCELL uniformly down the slope and connect adjacent panels in the planned sequence.
- 05
Install the restraint
Fit the specified crest restraint, face anchors, tendons and toe detail. Type and spacing are project-specific.
- 06
Fill, finish and inspect
Place the selected infill without displacing the cells, complete the surface finish and inspect joints, anchors and drainage paths.

Before you specify
Surface erosion control is not the same as global slope stability.
Structural or global-stability concerns require appropriately qualified engineering input.
What sits in the system
CORE GEOCELL is the primary product. The supporting layer, restraint and finish are selected around the site; they are not separate product ranges.

Start a project reviewEmbankment questions
Straight answers before you choose a system.
Is this a slope-stability system?
The CORE GEOCELL application is intended to confine surface material, control erosion and support the selected finish. It does not replace assessment of global slope stability, retaining structures or wider earthworks design.
How is CORE GEOCELL fixed to a slope?
The restraint may include crest anchorage, face anchors, tendons and a toe detail. The arrangement depends on the slope geometry, ground, cell depth, infill, runoff and available anchorage. Pin spacing should not be guessed.
Can the system use soil or aggregate infill?
Both may be suitable. The choice depends on the required finish, erosion exposure, water conditions and maintenance strategy. Send us the site information so the build-up can be reviewed as a whole.
Can it be installed over a liner or membrane?
A liner must not be punctured by routine anchoring. The membrane interface, protection layer and restraint strategy need to be agreed with the relevant designer and system supplier before installation.
What information do you need to review a slope?
Send photographs, a section or dimensions, the gradient, ground condition, drainage or hydraulic information, the intended finish and any restrictions on access or pinning. We will identify any important gaps.
Do you provide installation guidance?
Yes. We can confirm what current CORE GEOCELL information is available and discuss the installation principles relevant to your project. Final construction details remain project-specific.
Talk us through your slope
Send us the drawings, photographs and site information you have. Our team will help identify the right CORE GEOCELL build-up and the technical details that still need to be confirmed.
