A landscape shaped by its purpose.

At No.1 Booths Park in Knutsford, a former paved courtyard has become a greener place to meet, take a break and spend time outdoors. Designed by Layer.studio for Bruntwood, the landscape connects planted beds, lawns and social spaces with flowing paths.

MS Contracts Management delivered the courtyard landscape. CORE supplied approximately 1,100 linear metres of 150mm Corten CORE DATUM EDGE to define the paths, lawns and planted beds throughout the scheme.

The brief

What the project had to achieve.

The courtyard needed clear, durable boundaries between adjoining landscape surfaces, with an edging profile that could follow the design’s sweeping curves, straight runs and changing levels. The finish also needed to sit comfortably alongside the planting.

The CORE solution

Selected around the site—not just the surface.

A consistent Corten-steel edge follows the courtyard’s straight runs, sweeping curves and changes in level.

The Corten CORE DATUM EDGE follows the courtyard’s flowing routes and planted beds, keeping adjoining surfaces neatly separated. Its slim steel profile provides a consistent edge while keeping the focus on the landscape.

The warm weathering-steel finish complements the planting. Across the courtyard, the same edging detail brings paths, lawns and gathering spaces together, with lighting revealing the layout after dark.
